K.J.'s Thoughts on Entering the PGA Championship
August 14, 2001
In further preparation for this week's PGA Championship, it was reported that K.J. Choi went down to the famed Phil Ritson Golf Academy in Orlando, Florida last week to receive a 2 1/2 hour video analysis of his swing.
Asked about his swing analysis, K.J. said, "my swing has greatly improved and I feel good and confident going into this week's event."
K.J. Fan Central recently
had a Q & A session with K.J. Choi regarding the PGA Championship and
other areas of his golf game.
| Q: | How does it feel to qualify for the PGA Championship...your 2nd Major of the year and what does this Major mean to you? |
| A: | It feels very good to be able to qualify for this Major. This being my third Major, it gives me more confidence to go after the last one...the Masters. |
| Q: | How are you preparing for the PGA Championship? |
| A: | I've been focusing on lessening my missed shots. In order to do so, I've been carefully analyzing my swing, placing equal emphasis on all areas from driving off the tee to putting on the green. |
| Q: | Every player has his own style of playing. What kind of course fits your style? And do you have a favorite course on Tour? |
| A: | I like a course that doesn't play long. I prefer a course that has many doglegs and fast greens. Pebble Beach is my favorite. |
| Q: | Which part of the game do you like, the short game or the long game? |
| A: | Short Game |
| Q: | Besides your daily practice, do you have any workout routine? |
| A: | Stretching. I don't do any weight training during the Tour season. |
