K.J.'s Masters Diary: Day 3 (Tuesday)
It looked as if the rain was going
to hinder practice rounds again, but somehow
I was able to get a full 18 holes in. Right
after the round I immediately went to the putting
green to work on my putting again.
For this tournament I'm switching from my regular
Odessey TriHot putter to the C-Groove Putter
made by Yes Golf. I first tried the C Groove
putter at last year's Dunlop Phoenix Tournament
at Miyazaki, Japan. I've used it several times
this year - during rounds 3 and 4 of the Nissan
Open, and also during the Buick Open. The reason
why I decided to try this putter is because
the 'C' shaped groove (thus the name) on the
face of the putter is supposed to keep the ball
from jumping at impact, so it should provide
a more accurate putt.
I'll be teeing off tomorrow for the Father/Son
Par 3 Challenge. The Par 3 Challenge is a special
9 hole event, and my 6 year-old son, David (Hohjun)
will be caddying for me. Taylormade will provide
a special child-size caddie bag for David. This
is special for me since my first Masters experience
can be shared with my son as well.
I find it a great honor to be paired with Mr.
Nicklaus again and respect him greatly.
